Dedicated to “Families and drugs” that being the main focus on this years conference, among the speakers were
Monica Barzanti, head of international relations of the community, beside her is
Cindy J. Smith, Director of UNICRI (United Nations International Institute for research on crime and justice);
Libby Cataldi, author of “Stay close to me. A mother, a son, an invisible enemy: the drug” (A Mothers story of her sons addiction);
Veronica Risch, Director of the Dutch Association “Stichting Coke van Jou” and
Boro Goic, president of the Recovered Users Network (RUN).
They discussed in strengthening of support services for families, accompanying the parents and families in understanding and addressing the challenges and frustrations of addiction, and that support recovery and empowerment.
The conference was an opportunity to present the family-strengthening program conducted in San Patrignano recounting true-life stories of parents, relatives and communities participating in the Recovered Users Network (RUN), to discuss how to discover ways to deal with addiction and dependence.
