San Patrignano at the Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security

This is the spirit of the statement that emerged from the Global Forum on Youth, Peace and Security, held on 21st and 22nd of August in Jordan. Organized by the United Nations, the Forum saw as one of its speakers the co-founder of the Foundation San Patrignano, Letizia Moratti, and the participation of Monica Barzanti, responsible for international relations in the Community.
The Forum wanted to represent a turning point for a new international agenda on youth, peace and security. The two days were an opportunity for discussion and sharing for a multitude of international participants, who have turned the spotlight on young people’s contributions to peace and the need to create a common agenda.
It was the first global meeting of its kind, in which young people, youth organisations, non-governmental organizations, representatives of Governments and bodies from The UN came together to agree on a common vision and a roadmap to partner with the new generations to prevent conflicts, combating violent extremism, and to build a lasting peace. Letizia Moratti has brought her contribution urging, in view of Ungass 2016(UN General Assembly Special Session on Drugs), for a joining of forces in creating opportunities for the youth and offer them a positive lifestyle and liberation from drugs.
