This year, thanks to the collaboration with the Association of Diplomats which promotes the participation of Italian students to the Model United Nations (MUN), a delegation of young people from New York take part in the workshop from 18th to 20th March at the headquarters of the United Nations.

UN Model is designed as a learning experience at 360°, where students acquire knowledge and skills for their future, tools to understand and interpret the world dynamics, the ability to build ties globally while respecting different cultures, political opinion and value systems. Thanks to the work during the conference, the students developed leadership skills, speaking in public, writing, researching and resolving problems. An active participation encourages a consensus built through mediation and negotiation, conflict resolution and the ability to build friendly relations among people.

At the Change the World Model United Nations the student stimulate the activity of the G20, the G8, the World Bank and the international Monetary Fund. The themes of the session in New York will affect the impact of social media on democracy, the right to privacy in the digital age, the international drug trafficking via the international, the technological tools in support for the environment and natural disasters, mobile technology for children’s health, freedom of speech internet, the crisis in the South China Sea. During the conference, students from different countries work together to present concrete solutions to the topics under discussion, as if they were in real world forum, studying and the discussing key geopolitical issues.
