5th International workshop in San Patrignano 2016

Spring Special Session with a focus on a new economic model that serves society and promotes the growth of responsibility, sustainability and inclusivity advancements in social issues.Thursday 7 – Friday 15 April, 2016 Experiential learning labs for social workers, social practitioners working on addiction, researchers and NGO interested in getting to know the rehabilitation and social reinsertion model of the biggest community in Europe.
San Patrignano, the world’s largest residential treatment center, has been working on the full recovery of those suffering from drug addiction for the last thirty five years. Offering a program of rehabilitation, skills training and full social reintegration completely free of charge, the community has given a new chance to more than 25,000 young people, with an independently verified drug free success rate of over 70%. Currently San Patrignano is home to around 1300 residents, the average age of which is dropping year by year.
Aim of the workshop:
San Patrignano welcomes NGOs, government delegates, academia, social workers, students, professionals and individuals interested in deeping their knowledge on drug rehabilitation and social integration by studying our model and educative approach. The workshop has been developed the demand for visits and internship with San Patrignano, to share our expertise and offer a unique experience of the community. The international staff, in cooperation with Bologna University, created a format based on visits and stages taken at San Patrignano by government and civil society delegations from around the world in recent years.

8 days (Friday to Friday)
The course will take place from Friday to Friday. Please make the necessary travel arrangement to arrive on Thursday, and leave the following weekend on Friday afternoon or Saturday.
Fees:
1250 euro (The fees include : lectures, learning material, accommodation and meals full board for the duration of the course)
Accommodation:
Botticella (Novafeltria) and Sanpa (Rimini) – The accommodation is spilt into 2 to 4 beds a room, to experience firsthand the true community life-style.

Arrival into Rimini Railway Station between 3 and 6 pm, pick-ups and transfers to Botticella

Transfer from Botticella to San Patrignano
The participants will be offered an opportunity to attend the closing day of the Positive Economy Forum San Patrignano.
Transfer back to Botticella

Morning:
Welcome breakfast and a get-together for the participants.
Visit of Botticella and interaction with residents
Lunch – Botticella
Transfer to Sanpa, Rimini, get settled in, meet the tutors from the various sectors: Graphics, Decoration, Textiles
Afternoon:
Presentation by Antonio Boschini ( Director of the medical center )
Lectures:
· Drug related diseases and initial check-up.
· Introduction to the community program.

· The role and dynamics of the admission process: assessment of the motivational elements, alternative sentencing measures.
· Getting prepared for the admission.

· Job training, sports and leisure time: Nurturing each ones talent. The complex process of recovery through a range of activities engaging the residents.

· Special needs for special groups. Addressing age, gender and parenting issues.
